Special Driller Trainee Denmark job at Maersk Drilling

This is a rare opportunity to start an international career in the offshore industry while joining a team consisting of 10-12 trainees from all over the world. You will be part of Maersk Drilling’s unique Special Driller Trainee Programme which will train you to take up an offshore management position in the future. The Special Driller Trainee Programme is a fast track driller programme and takes approximately 14 months. During those 14 months you will have theoretical training at Maersk’s own training centre in Svendborg, Denmark as well as practical training on our worldwide offshore units where you will try all positions from the Roustabout and upwards. After this period, you should be able to start in an assistant driller position and continue your training in one or more offshore positions while you advance in your career Since the offshore industry is characterised by technology, mechanics and practical work, you must hold at least a Bsc in Engineering, marine, mechanical or civil ( maskinmester - Ingeniør ) or the equivalent, preferably with preceding experience as a skilled craftsman Furthermore, you could have experience from vessels, offshore units, power stations or other heavy industries. The Special Driller Trainee programme is an opportunity for those who wish to have a career in the offshore industry and already have a theoretical background. You are challenged by both theoretical issues and practical hands-on work. Finally, you must be proficient in English – which is the language of the offshore industry, as well as the language used in the theoretical training. The next trainee team will start approximately 1 March 2009
