Gorgon - area gas fields are located offshore, approximately 60km from Barrow Island and approximately 200km west of Dampier, on the Australian mainland. Five fields have so far been discovered - Gorgon, Chrysaor, Dionysus, West Tryal Rocks and Spar.

Lufeng 22-1 - field lies 250km south-east of Hong Kong in the South China Sea, in 333m of water. Recoverable reserves are estimated at 30 million bbls, representing a recovery factor of approximately 25% of oil-in-place.

Liuhua 11-1 - oil field is, to date, the largest oil field in the South China Sea and the reservoir is located in 1,000ft (300m) of water. After preliminary exploration studies, Liuhua 11-1A was drilled.

Laminaria - is located in the Timor Sea, 550km north-west of Darwin. Water depths increase from 50m to 300-400m near Laminaria and 400-500m over Corallina, before deepening to over 2,000m further north in the Timor Trough.

Langsa Oil Poo - is located in the offshore part of the North Sumatra Basin, in the Straits of Malacca. It covers an area of 77km˛, 90km east-north-east of Mobil/Exxon's giant Arun gas/condensate field.
