Ormen Lange, Shell, - deepwater field located in the Norwegian Sea, approximately 140km west of Kristiansund. Estimates show that Ormen Lange is the second-largest gas discovery on the Norwegian Shelf.
The Ormen Lange field development by operator Shell is located 6305/4, 6305/5, 6305/6 and 6305/8. in North Sea offshore Norway
in water depths of 800-1200m.
Shell with its partners started development of the Ormen Lange field in 1997.
The recoverable reserves are estimated to 315 billion m³ . Number of subsea wells are 48. The production year is
2006 with a daily production estimate of 50 mill Sm3/day. The Ormen Lange project is based on a
subsea solution with Ormen Lange Subsea Tieback topside solution. The development cost is in the order of with an estimated field life of years.
