The Mechanical Technician is responsible for overseeing and carrying out all mechanical repairs, maintenance, upgrading and R&D on a wide range of rigid and flexible pipe lay systems equipment and for ensuring that the work is carried out in a safe, effective and efficient manner. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Repair, maintenance and testing of a wide range of cable/pipe lay systems equipment and miscellaneous operational equipment. Construction and testing of control panels required for new-build systems. Operation of relevant equipment while on Company worksites. Offshore mobilisation and demobilisation of all equipment and systems detailed above. Updating the Maximo Planned Maintenance system for equipment and ensuring the spares stock is updated as required. Ensure that the Offshore Manager and the vessel manager is immediately aware of any changes in the technical conditions of the Lay System and associated equipment that may affect the lay operation(s). Issue PR’s when appropriate. Issue refit lists and planning of refit, supervising sub-contractors. Tracking and reporting of equipment maintenance history.
