The Curlew field, is located some 220 km east of Aberdeen in the central North Sea lies in 92 metres water depth. The Curlew Field is developed via subsea facilities feeding into an FPSO (floating production, storage and offloading system). AMEC were responsible for the overall engineering and procurement of the topside facilities and utilities, topsides construction, installation, hook-up and precommissioning, installation of the turret and management of the CSO (Coflexip Stena Offshore) subsea contract. The Maersk Curlew was originally built in 1983 and was converted to an FPSO in 1997. The vessel is 236.05 meters long with 39.9 meter breadth. Crude storage is 89,158 cubic meters. Oil export is via a stern offloading system through 16" hose at 4,500 cubic meters per hour. Oil production capacity is 45,000 barrels of oil per day.
