The development involves transporting the full well stream at reservoir pressure from a single unmanned platform to the existing Shell/Esso onshore processing facilities at St Fergus on the north east coast of Scotland. Offshore pipelines stretching 105 kilometers were designed and constructed by European Marine Contractors Limited. The two pipes measured 20 inches and 4 inches in diameter. The offshore pipelines were constructed over 16,000 twelve meter lengths of pipe welded together. The Goldeneye field went online in 2004 and is expected to produce for 7 to 10 years.
