To be an integral part of the Materials team. To promote and apply the tools and skills of materials engineering in meeting project requirements and performing all technical duties in a highly competent and efficient manner. Assist in planning the workload for the function Assist in the preparation of CTR’s and man hour estimates Execute technical duties in a competent manner and in accordance with company procedures Ensure work is completed on schedule and within budget Ensure that project deliverables are generated Review and check the work of others Assist in planning, coordination and execution of the groups work activities Liaise with other disciplines on design, construction, fabrication and commissioning issues Direct sub-ordinate engineers in their work Assist in the compilation of weekly reports on progress Deputise for principal engineer – provision of holiday, sickness cover when required. Prepare and deliver technical reports on material/metallurgist problems as directed by client. Reports should be of a suitable professional quality. Carry out manual and computer analysis Manage third party specialists Review and comment on vendor information Carry out single and inter discipline checks and reviews Attend meetings as and when required Carry out onshore/offshore survey work as required Assist in business development activities for the function
