Subsea Operations · Oversees the planning, installation, and testing of subsea BOP configurations and related equipment. · Supervises BOP maintenance and overhauls. · Plans and supervises subsea equipment replacements and retrievals. · Benchmarks rig subsea equipment history and performance against industry experience and recommendations to determine best available maintenance practices. · Determines subsea equipment replacement schedules; supervises replacement planning and implementation. · Supervises testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of all heave compensating equipment in accordance with Pride International (Pride) policy and regulatory requirements. · Ensures use of recognized maintenance procedures and safe subsea work practices. · Ensures that all assigned subsea running and retrieving tools are in good condition. · Ensures equipment maintenance history is maintained in accordance with Preventative Maintenance System (PMS) guidelines. · Monitors the inventory of all spares, oils, and operating fluids required for subsea equipment. · Keeps management informed on new installation projects and requirements for spares on a regular basis. Safety · Participates in the Safety Training Observation Program (S.T.O.P) and weekly safety and operational meetings. · Develops and implements Job Safety Analyses and prepares risk assessments as required. · Reports all hazards and communicates ideas for enhancing safety standards. · Performs all duties in accordance with the Permit to Work System. General Management · Monitors the Subsea Operations Department budget to ensure cost effective operation. · Ensures the roles, responsibilities, authorities, accountabilities, and performance measures of direct reports are defined, understood, and enforced. · Establishes goals and priorities with direct reports. · Establishes a system of accountability and monitors the performance of direct reports. · Reviews rig maintenance performance against performance measures; establishes initiatives with the team to achieve goals and objectives. · Assesses the competencies of direct reports, and works with them to enhance required competencies. · Develops and implements mechanisms to achieve effective communication, coordination of effort, information flow, and learning with direct reports. · Conducts and oversees performance and salary reviews with direct reports on a timely basis. · Ensures a high level of productivity, teamwork, and employee satisfaction within the Subsea team. · Authorizes work permits for the subsea crew per Pride policies and procedures. · Ensures effective communication with rig management and onshore personnel. · Ensures all subsea maintenance and installation activities are performed in accordance with the Permit to Work System. Other · Acts as a member of an emergency team in the event of a fire or other emergency; participates in meetings and drills as a member of an emergency team. · Performs other duties and special projects as requested by management.
