Review client generated specifications and related documents pertaining to materials, fabrication and welding Review and approve contractor/subcontractor/vendor welding procedures and related documents Provide specialist technical support to projects and other disciplines within Subsea 7 with regard to materials selection and solution of technical issues generally On behalf of projects, liaise with client and contractor/subcontractor/vendor discipline personnel on all matters relating to materials and welding Liaise with third party certification bodies where appropriate Provide support and coaching in these activities to less experienced members of team and maintain both personal and team knowledge base Contribute to bid process broadly as described above Maintain awareness of recognised industry codes and standards relevant to materials and welding discipline (eg API 5L, DNV OS-F101, BS 4515, EEMUA 158, Norsok etc) Providing advice and guidance on interpretation and use where appropriate Provide engineering assistance during mobilisations and occasional periods of offshore or site working Manage interfaces within a project structure, including other disciplines, drawing office, document control, project management, client and suppliers Manage change control within own remit on a project. Inform team members where constraints will affect a project in terms of programme or budget
